“Shackled” challenges man, all men with wealth, power and influence, to contemplate the nature of truth, and the complexities of reality.  Has one stood at the alters of religion and government, while being disinterested and complacent, or uninterested and complicit to countless atrocities?

Do we stand upon the shoulders of greats, with short-sided vision?  While building higher and higher, more broadly and deeply, to inform our American Project, and our American leadership legacy from 1684 to 2020, on flawed virtues whose righteous principles impede and deny life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Is that our reality?

What is the individual leader’s responsibility to self-truth and short-sidedness? After all, in our advanced technological age, we can no longer deny our powerful reality that leaders have cultivated.  Leaders, as humans, cannot accept and propel selective history’s systemic and seismic impact to defining, informing, and molding our individual, cultural, societal, norms, beliefs and faiths. Collectively, we are more intelligent in mind and spirit.

Our young nation, of roughly 400 years, has created something amazing.  Amazingly good, and amazingly horrendous.  We, collectively are not separate from our creations.  The ability for our American leaders, and all citizens; hence people, to collect ourselves in mind, body and spirit; and rally in establishing a new point of strength.  This endeavor becomes our present imperative. Our inability or ability will define the new normal.  And I don’t know about you, but the new normal, cannot be our old normal.  We are advanced and we are advancing.  Always forward.  I pray it we can operationalize and mobilize our energy in the direction of greatest good.

Can self-truth break the psychological constraints that act to feed judgement, uncertainty, doubt and fear?  Whose fear metastases from recurrent polarization, discord and fragmentation to further fuels unprecedented anger, disillusionment, and hopelessness.  Can one surrender to self-truth to see the error of our legacy ways to find peace, acceptance and love, for oneself and others?  When can we do the right things, for the right reasons, at the right time because there is no other way?
